Cartier white-gold and diamond Libre Tuttitutti cufflinks, £23,900
I have long envied women the opportunity to wear Cartier’s polychrome Tutti Frutti jewellery, so I was delighted to learn of the launch of the nearly homonymous Tuttitutti collection. There is snazzy pair of chrysoprase cufflinks with diamond and onyx accents that have become something of an obsession. cartier.com
Ralph Lauren suede fringed jacket, £4,775
I have long had a weakness for Western apparel – boots, belts, the lot – but at the moment my wardrobe is lacking a tan fringed jacket. Happily Ralph Lauren Purple Label has just the jacket to help me channel my inner Davy Crockett or Easy Rider-era Dennis Hopper. ralphlauren.co.uk
Rexhep Rexhepi Chronomètre Contemporain, about £111,279
As you might have gathered, I spend more time than is good for me fantasising about mechanical watches I cannot afford, but Rex’s Chronomètre Contemporain is doubly unavailable. I can’t afford one and, even if I could, I wouldn’t be able to find one – there is apparently a waiting list stretching into the next century. akrivia.com
Turnbull & Asser cotton dress shirt, from £325
Alas, my 20-odd-year-old peach silk dress shirt is showing its age (as is its wearer). T&A made shirts for Warren Beatty, and if it’s good enough for Warren… turnbullandasser.co.uk
Edward Sahakian leather cigar case, from £375
There is always a reason for another cigar case, so it is just as well that my favourite cigar merchants, Eddie and Edward Sahakian of Davidoff of London, have launched their own line of cases, including blue, green, purple, red, taupe, caramel, and black, crafted in calf croc, and polished ostrich. davidofflondon.com
Trinidad Fundadores cigars, £2,999 for a box of 24
Elegant in flavour and in shape, this bewitching wand of Vuelta Abajo tobacco is the perfect cigar to slot into my new cigar case. davidofflondon.com
Patek Philippe rose-gold 5738/1R Golden Ellipse, £51,470
I always add watches to my Christmas list – I could fill the whole page with them. So far my lead-heavy hints have not been acted upon by my loved ones, but I live in hope and have spent a good part of the year dreaming of the new Patek Philippe Ellipse with rose-gold bracelet. It oozes early-’70s elegance. patek.com
EB Meyrowitz tortoiseshell The Savoy spectacles, £26,000
Real tortoiseshell spectacles: I could never afford a pair. Tortoises are quite rightly protected now, and stocks of vintage shell are dwindling, so this is a find. ebmeyrowitz.com
Charvet silk square, from €105
Every time I enter Charvet I experience an attack of Stendhalisme, such is the accumulation of beautiful silk squares of all sizes. I am going to try wearing them knotted around the neck as bandanas. mrporter.com
Connolly small parmesan grater set, £1,575
I don’t usually wishlist kitchen equipment, but I make an exception for this ludicrously chic parmesan grater. connollyengland.com
Emma Willis cotton and cashmere Cashmerello pyjamas, £860
One of my sartorial goals has been to have a pair of pyjamas that are so elegant I could wear them out all day. I found them at Emma Willis, and the breast pocket enables me to accessorise with a silk pocket square. emmawillis.com
Alberdi loquat-wood Makila walking stick, €820
One of my best discoveries at this year’s Homo Faber craft biennial in Venice was the Makila, a traditional Basque walking stick with a horn pommel, leather handle and intricately worked silver ferrule. Apparently, Basque shepherds swear by it; I reckon it could also look good in the West End. alberdimakila.com
Marbella Nights by Stuart Cantor, from £698
Stuart Cantor has set himself the highly enviable task of photographing the world’s great resorts, including, of course, Marbella. I appear in one of the pictures shot on the terrace of the Marbella Club Grill. I know: staggeringly vain, but to be fair it is also a lovely photograph of my favourite place. stuartcantorphotography.com
FP Journe Chronomètre Souverain Havana, SFr38,600 (about £34,373)
François-Paul Journe is a genius – I am neither the first nor last individual to make that judgement. The Chronomètre à Résonance is a masterpiece and the immense hype around his watches is more than justified; indeed, it falls short. But it is his simpler pieces to which I find myself drawn – I wouldn’t say no to a Havana-dial Chronomètre Souverain in platinum on a caramel alligator strap. fpjourne.com
Dunhill Aquarium table lighter in green, £9,800, in-store only
Vintage Aquarium lighters are the Bentley R-Type Continental of tobacco accessories. Popular during the 1950s, the only thing that was wrong with them was that they used petrol – to light a cigar with a petrol lighter is a serious solecism. Now that Dunhill has resumed production of this legend among lighters and updated it to use gas, my worries are at an end. If only the rest of life’s problems could be so easily, and elegantly, solved. dunhill.com
